Eastwaters is an online magazine which aims is to bring attention to the maritime culture and heritage found within the coastal communities of Newfoundland and Labrador. Particular emphasis is placed on the vessels built, the people who designed and built them, and the activities related to navigation and fishing. The boats which were built and used by Newfoundlanders in the coves, villages and towns were the focal point of almost every activity and through a study of these vessels it is possible to have a better understanding of the social order, the economics, and the general way of life experienced by the people in these communities.
