WHAT'S  NEW

Editor's note - A majority of Eastwaters readers have shown a deep interest in the marine heritage of Newfoundland and Labrador, so we have changed the focus of the website to cover that field rather than the entire spectrum of marine activity. Previously published non-heritage stories may still be found on Eastwaters through the CONTENTS page.

SCHOONERS - In response to growing interest among readers, a new section entitled Newfoundland's Schooner Heritage by expert Bob Halliday has been added to Eastwaters. With this update some historic photos have been included in Bob's pages, and his email address has been added so you can contact him directly.

GUESTBOOK - Readers have a variety of comments and questions so be sure to read the Guestbook. You may be able to help someone.

WATERSCAPES - Graphic impressions of the province's waters.

COMING UP...

We are considering a new section in Eastwaters featuring profiles of Newfoundland and Labrador ships of the past. It would contain pictures, information and anecdotes of sailing vessels and steamships in this province. Much of this content will come from our readers, so please send us (see the ABOUT page) whatever information you may have about ships from the past. It is our hope that this section may develop into a useful support to the important marine heritage resources of the provincial and federal archives and Memorial University. We will begin the section as soon as we have some ship profiles to put in it, so we await your contributions eagerly. -- Editor
